Cluster Flies Pest Control
24 Hour Pest Control
We are Cluster Flies Pest Control Specialists with over 30 years experience in the pest control industry. Our technicians can quickly identify the problem and recommend the best treatment plan to remove the unwanted infestation of cluster flies.
Emerging in the late Summer and early Autumn, cluster flies can appear in large numbers in roofs, wall cavities, cladding or windows where they are looking to hibernate.
Cluster flies can be a nuisance and off putting if you have commercial premises and customers visiting you. Large numbers of dead cluster flies can lead to problems with infestations of other pests so it is a good idea to remove the cluster flies before the pest problem gets worse.

Our Treatment Programme
Treatment of cluster flies depends on where they are in the building. The first thing our technician will do is assess the problem and then talk through the recommended treatment approach.
Treatment options that we have available are aerosol dispensers, electric ultra violet fly traps and insect dust. One or a combination of these treatments may be needed to resolve the problem.
When treatments are completed our technician will provide a report including details on what treatments have been used and recommendations to help prevent further infestations.
Cluster Fly Facts
Cluster flies are 6 - 7mm long with a wing span of around 10mm, relatively large for a fly with large reddish compound eyes and yellow hairs covering their thorax and irregular light and dark grey areas on the abdomen.
They breed throughout the summer, sometimes using earthworms to support their larvae by laying eggs into the soil where the larvae seek out worms to complete their larvae life cycle. Adult flies feed on nectar from flowers. Depending on the weather 2-4 generations are possible each year.
They enter buildings once temperatures start to fall via small gaps or building fabric defects favouring south-west and south facing structures.
Problems Caused by Cluster Flies
Cluster flies will come in very large groups, up to thousands which can be very off putting for potential customers in a commercial setting and a nuisance in domestic properties.
With such large numbers, when they die they can then attract other unwanted pests coming to feed on them.
