Mice Control Facts
Originating from central Asia, mice have been in the UK since the 9th century, the most common species is the house mouse which are small and light brown in colour and active after dark.
Mice will drink water if it is available but can survive on food with a moisture content of just 15%. Omnivorous, mice will eat almost anything they can find.
Although they appear big mice are very capable of squeezing through very small cracks within walls, it is said that a mouse can fit through a hole as small as 1cm. They are also good climbers so although the most common entry points are around shin height, they can enter through gaps in facias as well.
Problems Caused by Mice
The most common problem caused by mice is destruction to property but they also spread disease, contaminating food and water. In search of food they will travel over work surfaces where it is prepared in search of crumbs and contaminate these areas which then have food prepared.
